Why it matters

Deleting files is not destroying data

Files that have been deleted, or drives that have been reformatted, can often still be recovered. Under UK GDPR your organisation must keep personal data secure for its whole life — including when the equipment holding it is retired. That is why every data-carrying device we collect is either wiped with certified software or physically shredded.

We work to the same benchmarks used by government, the armed forces and financial institutions: NSA/CSS 130-2, DoD 5220.22-M and HMG IS5 (Enhanced). Any drive that cannot be safely wiped — for example because it is damaged — is physically shredded.

How it works

From your office to a certificate in four steps

1. Book. Use the booking form, call 0191 468 3257 or email us. Tell us roughly what you have: laptops, desktops, servers, loose hard drives, phones or tablets.

2. We collect. You get a text with an exact ETA. On arrival we provide an itemised audit and a Duty of Care waste transfer note.

3. Data destroyed. At our secure facility every data-carrying device is wiped or shredded.

4. Certificate. You receive a single Certificate of Data Destruction listing every device by serial number — one clean document for your ICO, audit or insurance file.
